This event challenges and motivates our students to shine their best! Students will prepare two memorized pieces for adjudication and take a theory examination. Eligible students are invited to participate in a local Honors Recital and the PMTA State Showcase.

Online registration will be open on the PMTA website between early September & September 20, 2026.

Ensembles may also participate in the event.

There is a cost to participate in the Local Festival:
$20 per student
$10 per student in an ensemble

Local DSPF Honors Recital

Students who received a Superior for their performance and 85% or higher on their theory test are eligible to participate in the Honors Recital. There will be two recital times.

Registration will be open October 4 - October 5, 2026.

Looking forward to sharing our spooky, creepy, and silly Halloween music this Fall!

Elementary school students through grades K through 6 are invited to participate in costume. Bring a bag to collect treats!
Parents may bring snacks and treats for kids to collect at the end of the recital.

Teachers must register students by filling out the form in Member Resources.
Registration is limited to 40 students. Registration will open late August.

The Dr. William A. and Frances Harkness Wolf Music Scholarship offers competitive summer camp and college scholarships to middle school and high school music students in Lancaster, PA. The program aims to provide educational experiences and to recognize exceptionally talented young musicians in their pursuit of musical study.

Application requirements include:
1. Teacher Registration Form
2. Wolf Music Scholarship Student Application Form
3. Video recording web links for two performance selections
4. Links to PDFs of sheet music
5. Link to PDF of student’s essay
6. Two letters of recommendation

The perfect recital to join together students of all ages and levels and get the audience tapping their feet and swaying in their seats. From Gershwin and Joplin to Mier and Sowash, this recital offers something for every performer and audience member.

Spring festival: i’ve got rhythm

For students in elementary and middle school.
Cost is $25 for individual students, $15 for additional siblings.
